It’s a lousy time for telly fans with Netflix, Apple TV+, and Disney+ raising prices before the year is up (and Prime Video set to introduce adverts unless you agree to pay more each month). Yes, the cost of a good boxset binge is going up.
Netflix alone plans to increase the price of its maxed-out plan by 13% – that works out to an extra £24 each year to watch in 4K Ultra HD. And of course, you’ll need to pay an additional £4.99 for every additional viewer outside of your household as Netflix continues to work hard to combat password sharing between family members and friends.
Apple TV+, which was once the most reasonable streamer on the market at £4.99, is now increasing prices to £8.99 per month.
In other words, it’s a great time to secure a deal on your streaming. Fortunately, Sky has the best offer at the moment. The satellite telly specialists currently offer a package that includes a Sky Stream box, Sky TV with live channels and 500 on-demand boxsets, and a complete Netflix subscription for free for 30 days.
If you decide not to cancel and keep the package, you’ll then need to pay £29 per month. Cancel anytime during the free period and you won’t be charged a penny though. Sky Stream is available with a rolling monthly contract, so you can walk away at any time.
But you’ll have to act fast, as the offer is set to expire on Thursday November 2. Meanwhile, you can also find the best Sky deals if you want to explore the best deals on the market.
Sky Stream gives you access to 100 paid-for channels you won’t find on Freeview, as well as the most popular terrestrial channels. Everything is beamed to your television in High Definition as standard – something Sky Q customers still need to pay extra for – without a satellite dish drilled into your walls or engineers trudging through your home.
Once ordered, Sky Stream arrives in the post with a step-by-step guide to get set-up and streaming in seconds. Trust us, even the biggest technophobe should cope with this simple DIY set-up: just plug it in, connect to your Wi-Fi, and the binge-watching begins!
Having Sky Stream and Sky TV means you get ships 100 live channels, 500 on-demand boxsets from HBO Max, Sky Originals, and Peacock, as well as a fully-fledged Netflix subscription to watch on your new box.
You’ll also get Netflix Basic bundled in with the package which is the old Netflix subscription which should mean you get Netflix without adverts.
Sky isn’t the only company having a slew of deals. Virgin Media also has a huge list of deals you can choose from on its website and all you have to do is go to Virgin’s website, enter your postcode and see the best deal you can get.
