It looks like this solid iPhone 15 deal will be live for at least the late May bank holiday weekend and possibly longer, but it may not stick around forever so hurry – it’s rare to see the latest iPhone with a discount like this.
Released in September 2023, the iPhone 15 will remain the newest iPhone on the block until the same time this year when we expect the iPhone 16 to launch. Apple rarely discounts its products, which is why you’ll still pay the full £799 if you drop into an Apple Store. But Mobile Phones Direct tells us this is the “cheapest ever” price it has sold the iPhone 15 for, so you’re getting the best deal possible here – we’ve not seen the eight-month-old phone sold any cheaper than this, either.
In his iPhone 15 review, Express.co.uk’s technology editor Dave Snelling remarked that the handset is “packed with features that Apple previously reserved for its priciest Pro models – that includes the powerful A16 Bionic processor, the Dynamic Island notch, and lossless zoom.
“The new colour-infused glass – with its refreshed pastel colours – has a soft sheen feel to it and looks sophisticated. Tucked behind this toughened glass is the supremely capable A16 Bionic processor, which leaves Android rivals in the dust. The introduction of this speedier chipset has enabled Apple to bring its ever-changing Dynamic Island feature to iPhone 15”.
The Dynamic Island is a clever software trick that hides the notch at the top of the screen and displays content from different apps depending on what you’re doing – what music playing, audio from a phone call, timers, and even food deliveries pop up here unlike on older iPhones.
It’s a feature that’s made it to the regular iPhone 15 from the more expensive Pro model iPhones. This is the most ‘Pro’ the regular iPhone has ever been, with most of the features carried over to the now-£699 model. Our only real gripe is the 60Hz screen, which doesn’t scroll through apps as smoothly as the 120Hz display on the iPhone 15 Pro. But in all honesty, you may not notice – or care.
Argos and John Lewis are also selling the iPhone 15 for £699 if you prefer to shop with either of those retailers.
